Storyline:

In this gripping drama set against the backdrop of post-World War II America, a respected attorney is faced with one of the most trying cases of his career when his innocent client accuses himself of murder.

After an evening out celebrating their son's graduation from law school, lawyer John Kennally (John Payne) returns home to find that his 19-year-old son has accidentally killed his best friend while they were engaged in a high-speed car chase.

Panicked and unsure of what to do next, the elder Kennally family decides to cover up the incident rather than risk tarnishing their good name. However, as tensions within the household begin to boil over due to differing opinions on how to handle this sensitive situation - John's wife wants them all just keep quiet about it while he believes honesty is always best even if it means facing public shame.

As more information comes to light regarding that fateful night and who was really behind the wheel of the car at fault, secrets long kept start spilling out leading towards an explosive showdown between family members. Will John be able to save his son from going down for someone else's crime? Or will pride ultimately prove too much?
